  7.1 Liaison  
  7.1.1 The Liaison between the Regional All-Star Team and the Region will be the Elite Development Coordinator.  
  7.1.2 The Liaison will coordinate publicity for the team with the coaching staff.  
  7.1.3 The Liaison will attend as many team activities as she/he can.  
  7.1.4 The Liaison will aid the team with any activities that she/he wishes.  
  7.1.5 The Liaison shall report on the team’s activities at each Regional Meeting if a member of the bench staff cannot do so.  
  7.1.6 The Liaison will update the Ontario Ringette office of any information concerning the staff and the team’s activities.  
  7.1.7 The Liaison will be responsible for the uniforms and equipment between Ontario Winter Game Seasons.  
  7.1.8 The Liaison will monitor to make sure that all the team’s documentation for the Ontario Winter Games is completed by the dates required.  
  7.2 Finances  
  7.2.1 The team shall provide the Region with a proposed budget at the first Regional meeting and a year-end financial statement by the May meeting.  
  7.2.2 The team may fund raise and will try to solicit Associations to donate ice for practices and try-outs for free or at cost. Any fundraising needs to be approved by the Region to avoid conflicts with association fund raising.  
  7.2.3 The team shall set up a bank account and must have at least two signatures required from the coaching staff and/or liaison.  
  7.2.4 The team will be given an initial grant from the Region of $200.Additional donations will be at the discretion of the Members of the Regional Committee.  
  7.2.5 The Region shall retain the uniforms and equipment supplied by the Region.  
  7.2.6 The team will be responsible to pay all entrance fees for all Challenge Cups and the Ontario Winter Games.  
  7.2.7 The Region will hold an initial start-up fund of $300, which can be used by the team at the beginning of the season and must be replaced by the team to the Region for use by the next team.  
  7.3 Bench Staff Selection Committee  
  7.3.1 The Chair of the Bench Staff Selection Committee shall be the Coaching Coordinator of the Region. If the coordinator is in conflict then the chair shall be the Elite Development Coordinator. If both are in conflict the Region Executive will select a chair for the Selection Committee.  
  7.3.2 Invitations to apply should be sent out to all the Level 2 Certified Coaches either by email or regular mail by October 31 of the season preceding the Ontario Winter Games. Coaches with Level 2 Technical and Theory may apply with the understanding they will complete there Level 2 Certification by the following Sept. Qualifications will be equivalent to those of the “AA” level unless noted otherwise by the 0. R. A. Coaching Committee. Selection of the Bench Staff should be completed by March 31 so they can be announced at the April Regional meeting. The criteria for selecting the Bench Staff will be the same as the criteria for selecting the Bench Staff for Team Ontario. Coaches do not have to reside in the region for who they wish to coach.  
  7.3.3 The Coaching Coordinator will set up the interviews of the applicants for the position of Head Coach. The Coaching Coordinator will the successful applicant.  
  7.3.4 The Bench Staff Selection committee shall consist of the Coaching Coordinator, the Elite Coordinator, and 3 members at large. All five members of the committee shall vote. Once selected, the Head Coach will become a part of the Selection Committee. If either or both of the Elite and Coaching Coordinators are in conflict they will be replaced and the Regional Executive will make the appointment of their replacements.  
  7.3.5 The Bench Staff will serve until the May following the Ontario Winter Games. If a member of the Bench Staff needs to be replaced for any reason, the existing staff will select a replacement.  
  7.4 Criteria for Selecting the Head and Assistant Coaches  
  7.4.1 The successful candidates for the positions of Head Coach and Assistant Coach must have the following  
  7.4.1.1 A Certified Level 2 Coaching Certificate.  
  7.4.1.2 Leadership skills.  
  7.4.1.3 Motivational skills.  
  7.4.1.4 Organizational skills.  
  7.4.1.5 Communication skills.  
  7.4.1.6 A positive philosophy on sport participation and coaching.  
  7.4.1.7 A positive reputation both within the sport community and the community at large.  
  7.4.1.8 The ability to relate well to the player participants, other members of the coaching staff and parents.  
  7.4.1.9 References from both within and outside the Ringette community.  
  7.4.1.10 Knowledge and acceptance of the O.R.A. Harassment Policy.  
  7.4.2 It would be helpful if the candidates for the position had the following  
  7.4.2.1 Fund raising experience.  
  7.4.2.2 Previous experience in other sports and community activities.  
  7.4.2.3 Previous related business experience.  
  7.4.2.4 Extra qualifications and/or training in related areas.  
  7.4.2.5 Extra qualifications and/or training from N.C.C.P.  
  7.4.3 It would also be beneficial to know if the candidate has ever earned recognition in the form of awards or honors from previous involvement in Ringette, other sports and the community.  
  7.5 Criteria for Selecting the Manager  
  7.5.1 The successful candidate for the position of Manager of Northeast Region Allstar Team must have the following  
  7.5.1.1 Completed N.C.C.P.’s Managers Course  
  7.5.1.2 Previous Ringette experience.  
  7.5.1.3 Leadership skills.  
  7.5.1.4 Organization skills.  
  7.5.1.5 Communication skills.  
  7.5.1.6 A positive philosophy on sport participation and coaching.  
  7.5.1.7 A positive reputation both within the sports community and the community at large.  
  7.5.1.8 The ability to relate well to the player participants, other members of the coaching staff and parents.  
  7.5.1.9 References from both within and outside the Ringette community Knowledge and acceptance of the ORA Harassment Policy.  
  7.5.2 It would be helpful if the candidate for the position had the following  
  7.5.2.1 Fund raising experience.  
  7.5.2.2 Previous experience in other sports and community activities.  
  7.5.2.3 Previous related business experience.  
  7.5.2.4 Extra qualifications and/or training from N.C.C.P.  
  7.5.2.5 Extra qualifications and/or training in related areas.  
  7.5.3 It would also be beneficial to know if the candidate has ever earned recognition in the form of awards or honors from previous involvement in Ringette, other sports and the community.  
  7.6 Player Selection  
  7.6.1 The players must try-out in the Region that they reside first before asking and receiving permission of Ontario Ringette Association to tryout and/or join a composite team for the Ontario Winter Games.  
  7.6.2 Ages for the team will be announced as decided by the 0. R. A. as soon as possible. All players in the appropriate age will be sent an invitation to try-out. This will be the responsibility of the Head Coach in conjunction with the G&T and Elite Coordinator..  
  7.6.3 An attempt should be made to have the try-out ice sessions in three different geographical locations within the region. Associations will be approached to host these try-outs for free or at cost. Players must attend at least one of these sessions to make the second level of try-outs or have the permission of the Head Coach if extenuating circumstances negate her being able to attend.  
  7.6.4 Players may be charged a nominal fee for these on ice sessions to cover costs, whether the ice is donated or not.  
  7.6.5 Players will be given the criteria for selection to the team at their first try-out The criteria for selection should include both objective and subjective criteria and should be completed in as great as detail as possible. Players will be given an appeal procedure to the selection process The selection process will be free of bias and the Elite Coordinator will be part of the selection process.  
  7.6.6 It is recommend that the team carry the maximum number of players and bench staff as allowed by the Ontario Winter Games and indicate up to 5 alternates incase of injury or relocation of players..  
  7.6.7 A team list of players and their home association shall be presented at the November Regional meeting. Alternates should be clearly indicated.  
  7.7 Program Evaluation  
  7.7.1 At the end of the playing year for the AAA team, the Bench Staff Selection Committee will be responsible for surveying the players, coaches and parents as to the policies and procedures of the AAA program. Topics of the survey could include but not limited to the following: Bench Staff Selection, Player Selection, Challenge Cups, Ontario Winter Games and Coaching.  
  7.7.2 The Committee will submit to the Region Executive Committee on the team’s season and the make recommendations for following seasons.  
  7.8 Regional Uniforms  
  7.8.1 The NERRA will supply White (away) sweaters and a set of pants, which will be returned.  
  7.8.2 The individual players may purchase and keep a dark (Home) sweater for the season.
